East Hampton Town Police arrested a Montauk teen on Monday after they say he struck a pedestrian on an Amagansett roadside and fled without stopping to help the man. On Friday night, Southampton Town Police said they were looking for a dark sedan that may have been involved in the hit-and-run of a 3-year-old, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the course of the accident. According to police, on Friday, July 23, around 6:42 p.m., they received a report of a child that had possibly been struck on Old Quogue Road in Riverside. A 61-year-old East Hampton man was left in critical condition after being assaulted in the Amagansett Square parking lot last week. Police said they are still investigating and have yet to make an arrest. East Hampton Town Police arrested an Amagansett man and a female accomplice last week and charged them with drug and weapon possession after they were caught with a large stash of hallucinogenic mushrooms and the drug commonly known as ecstasy. The use of a cemetery as a parking lot by a valet company working a private party in East Hampton incensed local residents and officials over the weekend, though police said it does not appear any damage was done.
