East Hampton Town Police Detectives announced Wednesday that they had arrested an East Quogue man in connection with multiple high-end jewelry thefts made while police said the man was working in private homes as a HVAC technician. Christopher G. Fitzgerald, 39, of East Quogue, stole over $100,000 in jewelry, police said, from five different homeowners in East Hampton between April and December. It being 2020, there should be no surprise that a minor earthquake could apparently be felt on eastern Long Island Sunday morning. According to the Unites States Geological Survey, the quake, with a magnitude of 3.6, occurred at 9:10 a.m. Sunday. A Rhode Island fisherman disappeared late on Saturday night after he went overboard from a commercial fishing vessel south of Montauk.
