The East Hampton field hockey team reached the Suffolk County Class B Championship for the first time since 2003, and although the Bonackers didn’t come home with a county title, they certainly earned their fair share of postseason accolades as proof of their hard work throughout the season.

Sadie Cober, Emma McGrory and Melina Sarlo were each named All-County players, while goalie Caeleigh Schuster earned both All-County Goalkeeper honors and was named Division II Goalie of the Year. Schuster, along with teammates Ally Schaefer and Casey Stumpf, were named to the All-Tournament Team. Toby Allen and Chloe Coleman were both All-County Honorable Mentions and Ava Arcoleo was named All-Classification. Kerri O’Donnell was named the team’s Unsung Hero and head coach Samantha James was named Division II Coach of the Year along with Ann Naughton, a Westhampton Beach High School graduate who is also a Southampton Town Chief Lifeguard and coaches at Eastport-South Manor. The field hockey team was just as successful in the classroom as well, being named a Scholar-Athlete Team with a combined weighted GPA of 97.59.

The district’s only All-Federation and All-State student-athletes competed for the East Hampton/Pierson girls swimming team this fall, and they were Jane Brierley and Camryn Hatch. Brierley earned the accolades in the 100-yard breaststroke, in which she also was an All-American Consideration. Hatch earned All-State honors in the 100-yard backstroke. Brierley was also All-Long Island and All-County in the 100 breast and All-County and All-League III in the 100-yard butterfly. Hatch was All-County in the 100 back and All-League III in the 50-yard freestyle. Brierley and Hatch also swam together on the 200-medley relay team along with Ava Castillo and Lily Griffin that earned All-Long Island, All-County and All-League III honors.

Griffin was All-League III in the 100 and 50 free, Castillo was All-League III in the 100 fly and Maddie Elflein earned All-League III honors in the 100 back. Hatch, Alyssa Brabant, Lizzy Daniels and Lylah Metz were All-League III in the 400 free relay.

The League VI Champion East Hampton boys soccer team fell one win shy of reaching the Suffolk County Class A Championship with a tough 1-0 loss to Half Hollow Hills West. Eric Armijos was named United Soccer Coaches All-Region, which includes New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and he was named United Soccer Coaches New York All-State and was a recipient of the Suffolk County Soccer Coaches Association Ray Perez Memorial Scholarship. Armijos and teammate Michael Figueroa earned All-County and All-Conference honors and both were Senior All-Star Game participants. Brian Tacuri and Gary Gutama were all named All-Conference players, while Kevin Hilario and Jonathon Armijos were named All-League. Varsity head coach Don McGovern, assistant coach Anthony Roza and junior varsity head coach Mike Vitulli were all named League IV Coaches of the Year.

Jocelyn Prieto was named All-League for East Hampton’s girls soccer team, and both Nicole Velez and Skye Tanzmann earned All-County Academic honors, being among the top 12 highest scholastic achieving students in the county.

The East Hampton boys volleyball team lost its first-round playoff game this fall to eventual county and Long Island champion Hauppauge. Alex Lombardo was named All-County, All-County Tournament and All-County Academic for his efforts throughout the season. Calum Anderson was named All-Division and All-County Academic, while Hunter Eberhart was All-Division Honorable Mention and All-County tournament. Nick Schaffer was an All-Division Honorable Mention and All-County Academic and Cash Muse was All-Division Honorable Mention, while Nick Cordone was named All-County Tournament.

The East Hampton girls volleyball team finished the season one win shy of qualifying for the postseason. Baye Bogetti, Caroline DiSunno, Scout Lynch and Emma Terry were each named All-League.

Nico Horan-Puglia and Trevor Stachecki led the East Hampton boys golf team at the county tournament this fall earning All-County honors and a trip to the New York State Championships, which aren’t until June. It was Horan-Puglia’s second time qualifying for states while it was Stachecki’s first time. Egan Barzilay and Juan Palacios were All-League golfers.

The East Hampton girls cross country team went undefeated to win the League V title. Dylan Cashin led the team all season and qualified for the New York State Championships. She earned All-County, All-Division and All-League honors. Ryleigh O’Donnell was also All-Division and All-League while Zion Osei, Emma Tepan and Briana Chavez were each All-League runners.

The Bonac boys cross country team had a successful regular season in which it finished 4-1 in second place behind League V Champion Westhampton Beach. Diego Rojas was All-Division and All League, while Liam Fowkes, Liam Knight and Brayan Rivera were All-League. The boys were also a Scholar-Athlete Team with a 93.03 average in the classroom during the season and it was given the League V Sportsmanship Award.

In its first season back in Division III since 2011, the East Hampton/Pierson football team finished the season 2-6. Finn Byrnes was the team’s lone All-County selection while Charlie Corwin was First Team All-Division. Will Darrell, Danny Lester and Richie Maio were Second Team All-Division.
