An unfortunate chain of events combined to place two East Hampton duck hunters in jeopardy late on the afternoon of New Year’s Day. According to East Hampton Town Police, Stephen Turza and Brendan Mott were in Gardiners Bay off Louse Point late that afternoon when the outboard motor on their boat died. East Hampton Store Sells $1 Million Winning Mega Millions Lottery Ticket

One lucky person won a $1 million second-place prize in the Mega Millions drawing Tuesday night, December 17. The ticket, with the winning numbers 22, 30, 53, 55 and 56, was sold at the Stop & Shop in East Hampton on Newtown Lane. The winner has not yet filed a claim, and so cannot yet be identified, a spokesman for the New York Gaming Commission said Wednesday morning.
