Keith Grimes, 71, of Montauk, was northbound in a Mack truck with a trailer on Edgemere Street when an e-bike apparently entered his lane from the shoulder, causing a crash, police said. An aircraft piloted by Curtis Doupe was forced to land at East Hampton Airport without its landing gear at around 8 p.m. on Sunday. There were no passengers aboard, and the pilot was not injured. East Hampton Town Police and the East Hampton Fire Department responded to the scene, and the airport closed down, town spokesman Patrick Derenze said in a press release. At 10:40 p.m., the Federal Aviation Administration authorized the removal of the plane from the runway.
