Police: E-Bike Rider Seriously Injured After Montauk Crash

East Hampton Town Police are investigating an accident that occurred on Edgemere Street in Montauk on Tuesday morning that seriously injured an e-bike rider. Keith Grimes, 71, of Montauk, was northbound in a Mack truck with a trailer on Edgemere Street when an e-bike apparently entered his lane from the shoulder, causing a crash, police said. Grimes remained at the scene, and police do not suspect any criminality. Police closed Edgemere Street near Industrial Road to northbound traffic after the crash.
