George Eldi, Vincent Priore and Joan Priore said that erosion of the shoreline in front of their homes accelerated significantly after the west inlet into Napeague Harbor was widened and deepened about 15 years ago. That is also when the historic east inlet began filling in quickly.

The Suffolk County Water Authority has announced that it would receive its first payment as part of a nationwide class-action lawsuit against the 3M Company, a manufacturer of PFAS, which are often referred to as “forever chemicals,” because they do not break down over time.
