Former Montauk resident Edna M. Macys died on April 14 at Van Dyk Manor Nursing Home in Montclair, New Jersey, where she had been residing for the past three and a half years. She was 92.
Born May 5, 1916, in Ridgewood, New York, to Edna (née Schadt) and Charles Goehringer, she attended Richmond Hill High School in Queens. An art designer, she was also an active member of the congregation and eucharistic minister at St. Therese of Lisieux Church in Montauk.
She is survived by a son, Robert James Macys of East Moriches; a sister, Irma Fannick of New Jersey; and six nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Robert William Macys, she was predeceased by a brother, Charles Goehringer.
The family received visitors on April 17 at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A funeral was held on April 18 at St. Therese Church; interment followed at Fort Hill Cemetery.
