About three weeks ago, the president stated that the U.S. has “recovered all the jobs lost during the pandemic.” This was also the claim in September 2022.
The question remains, if we actually recovered jobs, created jobs, jobs lost, individuals who are not looking, retired, remain unemployed or just went back to the job the pandemic took.
The labor statistics actually, for how in depth they are, seem to lack all those findings. If the current president has a 13 million total, the one before you “recovered” five million but allegedly actually lost over 20 million. Common core math for the win. Until next September.
Still here.

After months of reading about Nick LaLota’s campaign, and the misinformation he and his staff are spreading about how he represents Long Islanders, I find the need to speak out to my fellow East Enders. LaLota’s record is clearly one...

I applaud your editorial of September 5, “Keeping Whales Safe,” for showing that there is no evidence to support the idea that wind farms harm whales. In fact, the evidence is that ship strikes have been responsible for most of...
I have been a resident of Bridgehampton for almost 40 years, and I am deeply concerned at the unfairness and lack of neighborliness reflected in the July 17 decision by the Sagaponack Village Board to limit access to Gibson Lane...
I have become inured to the insults that reader Ed Surgan peppers his Letters to the Editor with and have refrained from responding for some time. But a statement in his latest missive must be challenged. Speaking of the vice...
