On behalf of the East Hampton Chamber of Commerce, a very special thank you to all who participated in and attended the annual Santa Parade and all of the festivities during the December 7 celebrations. The citizens of the village turned out in record numbers to be in the parade and to watch the hundreds of participants.
Thank you to the trustees of the Village of East Hampton for supporting not only the Santa Parade but the first Holiday Night Market.
A very special shout of “thank you!” to East Hampton’s Finest: the men and women of the East Hampton Village Police Department. The success and safety of this past Saturday would not have been possible without the support and direction of the EHVPD.
We all had a great time and learned a lot. Rest assured, the chamber promises that we will be reviewing this year’s events and making some changes for an even better “Santa Saturday” in 2020!
Thank you, East Hampton Village, and have a super holiday season.
H. Michael Howell

I’m writing in response to a letter by Craig Catalanotto [“What Are We Doing?” Letters, April 18], with specific reference to his gratuitous and irrational swipe at Southampton Town Councilman Tommy John Schiavoni. Mr. Catalanotto, a Southampton Town Planning Board...
Often missing in public policy discourse is human engagement and why it’s so vital. Well-meaning officials have navigated pickleball noise fears on public property, nonconforming (now acceptable) commercial facade colors, and concerns over hanging out to consume organic wine at...

I read with interest the opinion piece, April 18, by Tom Clavin [“From Camelot to COVID,” The Road Yet Taken, Opinion, April 18]. I do not know Mr. Clavin’s work, but I do know Mr. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s, his...
