Gladys E. Ford
Gladys E. Ford, a resident of Montauk for 38 years, died on August 18 at her home after a two-month bout with cancer. She was 82.
Born July 26, 1928, on Staten Island, to Catherine (née Eccleston) and Herman Lendzian, she attended school and lived on Staten Island most of her life.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John J. Ford, four sons, Thomas Ford of Montauk, John Ford and Randolph Solheim, both of Staten Island, and Stanley A. Solheim of Florida; a daughter, Debra Medina of New Jersey; a sister, Beverly Frank of Earlton; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Shebler and two brothers, James Lendzian and William Lendzian.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 19, at 10 a.m., at St. Therese of Lisieux Church in Montauk. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery, also in Montauk.
In lieu of flowers, donations to East End Hospice, P.O. Box 1048, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978 would be appreciated by the family.
