To highlight again the Amagansett School Board meeting on May 13: I had sent a letter in for the School Board to read. After all, another parent’s letter was read with pride the month prior, on April 8. My letter, which was sent in via email to the board and hand-delivered by myself to the district clerk well before the required 24 hours prior to the May 13 meeting, was not acknowledged at the meeting, nor was it read. Completely ignored.
Remember, if you have a voice of dissent or a different view of the “majority,” then, in my experience, it is attempted to be dismissed and silenced. Those who speak of any different or alternate experiences do not appear in my opinion to have the same rights.
I would categorize this an act of viewpoint discrimination.
Still here.

On Friday, August 1, President Donald Trump fired the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Erika McEntarfer, a nonpolitical, well-respected labor economist. Why was she fired? Because her agency published data that showed U.S. employment growth is slowing. The...

Southampton, unlike East Hampton, is very fortunate to have an established Dark Sky Committee, with thoughtful and informed citizens, under the leadership of town planner, Janice Scherer, to help educate the public and elected officials to the value of using...
