East Hampton Town officials are exploring taking a Montauk restaurant to court following claims of repeated violations of overcrowding and safety code violations — a relative rarity in Montauk nowadays. The Soldier Ride benefits and the East Hampton Library’s popular fundraiser known as “Author’s Night” would continue to be allowed to use the broad town-owned field at 555 Montauk Highway in Amagansett, under a new management plan proposed by the town’s Nature Preserve Committee.
