Joseph J. Kelleher
Joseph J. Kelleher, a 20-year resident of Wainscott, died on June 8 at his home. Active at the original Bridgehampton Roadrace Circuit, he was 86.
Born June 5, 1924, in Brooklyn, to Alice (née Barry) and John Joseph Kelleher, he served in the U.S. Army as a tank commander during World War II, from 1941 to 1945. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Syracuse University, before going on to become the publisher and owner of many magazines.
He is survived by his wife, Helen M. Kelleher of Wainscott; three sons, Quent Kelleher of New York City, Owen Kelleher of New Jersey and Ian Kelleher of California and Canada; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Two sons, Craig Kelleher and Marko Kelleher, predeceasd him.
No services were held. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey.
