East Hampton Town Police charged three people with selling alcoholic beverages to minors, a misdemeanor, during a compliance investigation on June 19. The investigations saw an underage agent attempt to purchase alcoholic drinks from various establishments without providing age verification. Police charged three, while deeming other businesses that were investigated to be in compliance with local laws. Police arrested John Caravaggio, 64, of Montauk, at Dive Bar Pizza in Montauk, Kate O’Brien, 37, of Woodside, at Surf Lodge in Montauk, and Hanna Rose Clauss, 29, of Lighthouse Point, Florida, at Bounce Beach in Montauk. Sagaponack Village Trustees Carrie Thayer Crowley and William Barbour were reelected to their positions on June 20, in an uncontested election. Barbour earned a total of 19 votes (18 in person, 1 absentee), while Crowley garnered 16 votes (15 in person, 1 absentee). Barbour was first elected to the Sagaponack Village Board in 2011, as a write-in candidate and will be starting his eighth two-year term.
