June C. Paler of Wainscott died on June 17 at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. She was 83.

Ms. Paler was born on April 18, 1937 to Duncan and Mary Robertson. She came from humble beginnings, her family noted, a small Scottish town on the firth of the Clyde.

She wanted more out of life, her family said, so she sought out new beginnings, adventure and a bit of the unknown. She moved to the United States in 1960 and became a TWA stewardess — which she saw as a gateway to a new world.

She married her husband Irving shortly after arriving in the United States. They were married for 55 years.

The couple lived in Wainscott for 34 years, where they designed and renovated apartments and homes on the East End. They achieved the American dream sought by so many financial success, good friends, and a happy family, their family members said.

Ms. Paler is survived by her husband Irving Paler; as well as her sons, David and Michael.

A private cremation with interment at Wainscott Cemetery took place. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton.
