The sky at Main Beach in East Hampton will be filled with colorful kites on Saturday, May 25, when the Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center hosts its second annual Kites for Kids Day from 2 to 5 p.m. Last year’s inaugural Kites for Kids had more than 1,200 attendees come out to raise money for the nonprofit child care organization.
Parking is free at Main Beach for all attendees. Kites are $10 and may then be decorated at one of the kid art stations set up at Main Beach. This year there will also be bucket hats for kids and adults for sale; the cost of a hat and a kite is $50. Specially decorated kites by Whitmore kids will be available for a $100 donation. Fruit and water will be provided by East Hampton Stop & Shop.
