The East Hampton High School’s Interact Club is will again hold its Big Brothers Big Sisters Clothing Drive, an annual effort supporting young people in need across Long Island. According to Michael Ponella, the Interact Club Advisor, one of the main goals of the drive is “to bring awareness to those in need of living essentials here on Long Island.” The drive is held during the Thanksgiving season to inspire gratitude and to encourage students to think about those who may be less fortunate. The first in a new annual series of guided seal observation hikes at Montauk State Park kicks off this weekend, with programs running through April 2026. Led by a State Park naturalist, the two-hour educational hikes give visitors the chance to explore Montauk’s scenic shoreline while observing as many as five species of wintering seals off Long Island’s easternmost point.
