Lee Bation Of East Hampton Dies At 72

Lee Bation

Lee Bation of East Hampton died on January 1 at his home. He was 72.

Born October 8, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, to Jeanette (née Lambert) and Leon Bation, he served in the U.S. Army and worked 
as a mechanical engineer. He was a post commander of the American Legion Post 419 
in Amagansett.

He is survived by his wife, Rhoda Shrednick-Dienstag of East Hampton; a son, Daniel Bation, and a daughter, 
Linda Bation, both of Florida; two stepsons, Matthew 
Dienstag of Hampton Bays 
and Bill Dienstag of New York City; and a grandson, 
Jonathan Bation.

A memorial service will 
be held on Sunday, January 9, at 1 p.m., at the American Legion Hall in Amagansett. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Legion Post 419, P.O. Box 1343, East Hampton, NY 11937 would be appreciated by the family.
