Millenials Redefining Art Criticism

A new generation of commentators are remaking art criticism in their image. On Saturday, September 21, at 1 p.m., Guild Hall hosts “Art Criticism: The Next Generation” with Tiffany Bradley.

The program will screen four short films and one work-in-progress, showcasing arts experiences from Native American, Afro-Brazilian, African-American, and Caribbean-American communities. A panel discussion will follow with millennial curators and journalists responding to the changing understanding of cultural heritage.

Shorts include “Digital Natives: Plains Indians at The Met,” “Free Blacks: DanceAfrica at BAM”, “#MovementIsRising: Museum of Impact,” “Millennial Realness: 2019 Whitney Biennial” and “Carnival Queens.”

Admission to the program is $15 ($10 members) at 631-324-4050 or theatermania.com. Guild Hall is at 158 Main Street, East Hampton.

East Hampton’s housing shortage is real; the town can’t afford to ignore any potential long-term solutions. But the recent — and now scrapped — plan for a large employer-run complex on Three Mile Harbor Road raises too many questions that haven’t been fully answered. Bronx Man Sustains Serious Injuries in Montauk E-Bike Crash

A crash in Montauk on Tuesday afternoon left a Bronx man who was riding an e-bike in critical but stable condition at Stony Brook University Hospital.
