Mirko Stipanov of Montauk died on April 10 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson, after suffering a fall in January which led to a coma. He was 78.
Born May 1, 1930, in Preko, Croatia, to Danica and Frane Stipanov, he worked in landscaping and maintenance.
He is survived by a son, Nado Stipanov of Amagansett; two daughters, Nena Stuckart of Montauk and Emy Kozanitis of Greece; a brother, Vinko Stipanov of Croatia; and three grandsons, Anthony Stipanov, Felice Stipanov and Alex Stipanov; and two granddaughters, Sara Olga Stuckart and Carli Stuckart—whom he didn’t get to meet because she was born while she was in a coma.
