Montauk Mercury Grand Slam To Be Held July 16 and 17

The annual Montauk Mercury Grand Slam fishing tournament will take place on July 16 and 17 at Uihlein’s Marina in Montauk.

Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of East Hampton and the Montauk Friends of Erin, the tournament features prizes and honors local fishermen. This year, Jake Nessel will be recognized with the Montauk Fishing Legend award.

The event is open to all ages and there are three divisions: recreational, professional/commercial, and party boat. The recreational winner will receive a Mercury Outboard 150hp motor and a trophy. Prizes will be given for largest species caught in the four categories: fluke, striped bass, sea bass, and bluefish.

The Montauk Chamber of Commerce, the Montauk Artists Association, and The Lucore Art Gallery will host “Windows of Wonder,” a Winter Art Walk and Open Art Gallery event on Saturday, December 6.
