It’s been more than overdue for the East Hampton Town Board to return to meetings at night. It was put quite poetically in the editorial this past week [“A Matter of Time,” July 27]. Even to reaches of the town for work session meetings.
Though you can use the current hybrid method, you can even write in for public comment. Unlike other meetings in the country, the town clerk is under no obligation to read the comments into the record.
It is supposedly always reviewed by the Town Board. But unlike comments to the Zoning Board of Appeals or Planning Board, it never seems to be acknowledged or referred to.
