Patrick Edward Mahoney of East Hampton died on November 27 at Southampton Hospital of congestive heart failure. He was 74.
Born September 20, 1934, in Syracuse to Bernice (née DeLosh) and Peter C. Mahoney, he served in the United States Army as a captain, earning the Army Commendation Medal.
Graduating in 1950 from Niagara University with a bachelor’s degree, he earned a master’s degree in public administration from New York University in 1972. He worked as a hospital administrator at Upstate Medical Center, and as a deputy chief administrator at Downstate Medical Center and Coney Island Hospital, all in New York.
In 1999, he retired to Clearwater Beach in East Hampton, where he did volunteer work for Most Holy Trinity Church.
He is survived by his longtime companion W.F. Bucklin of East Hampton; two brothers, Francis P. Mahoney of Florida and Theodore C. Mahoney of New Hampshire; two nieces; and a nephew.
Services were held on December 1 at Most Holy Trinity Church, followed by interment at the church cemetery.
