The first in a new annual series of guided seal observation hikes at Montauk State Park kicks off this weekend, with programs running through April 2026. Led by a State Park naturalist, the two-hour educational hikes give visitors the chance to explore Montauk’s scenic shoreline while observing as many as five species of wintering seals off Long Island’s easternmost point. Participants may also spot winter birds and learn about the area’s distinctive marine geology. Our Fabulous Variety Show will host a full weekend of performances at Guild Hall during the first weekend in December. The festivities begin with “The Holiday Spectacular,” featuring shows on Friday, December 5, at 6:30 p.m., and Sunday, December 7, at 2 p.m. The production will showcase festive dance numbers and seasonal skits created during the group’s fall semester, with performances by local students enrolled in weekly classes in lyrical, jazz, tap, musical theater, pom dance, ballet and acting.
