A lot of interesting requirements for anyone running for school board. The most interesting is the wording of “a qualified voter of the district.” This will also coincide with the legal notice that “registered” voters of the district will be the only ones to vote. You are to vote in one place — not one for school board and a different for the general elections.
It has always been odd that the application also states, “Not more than one member of a family shall be a member of the Board of Education.” It doesn’t say how that family relationship exists. It should quote a policy or perhaps say “immediate family.”
The concern begins to rise when you start to look at how many individuals serving fall into a “family” category.
Still here.

Oh oh. Now I’ve done it. I’ve drawn fire from the formidable Frances Genovese [“Disparagers of Truth,” Letters, May 1]. She, the most acerbic verbal arsonist to be found in this space, has gone back a month to come to...
Last year, at around this same time, Tom Mager, the Amagansett School District treasurer, stated that they were “committed” to spending. Just like the Amagansett School appears to be this year. It was still odd then, as now, that the...
