Remember The Swamp's Role On The South Fork

The former disco that had been The Swamp, and a lone respite for the Hamptons gay community in the 1970s and 1980s, and then the A-list nightclub Star Room, was torn down in 2018. Hamptons Pride has been given permission by East Hampton Town to mark the location of the building with survey markers to commemorate the club's history.

East Hampton Town Launches Holiday Toy Drive

The Town of East Hampton is partnering with Toys for Tots for its annual holiday toy drive. Residents can drop off new, unwrapped toys at East Hampton Town Hall, 159 Pantigo Road, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., through December 10. The drive, supported by the Town Police Benevolent Association, Superior Officers Association, Civil Service Employees Association and Department Heads Association, seeks gifts for children of all ages, with a focus on older children and teens. “Every toy donated helps bring a little more joy to a child in our community,” Town Supervisor Kathee Burke-Gonzalez said.
