Lifelong East Hampton resident Robert C. Eichhorn died on September 13 at Stony Brook University Hospital. He was 67.
Born November 20, 1940, in Amagansett to Angeline (née Miller) and James Eichhorn, he was a graduate of East Hampton High School.
A charter member of the Police Benevolent Association, he worked as an East Hampton Village police officer and dispatcher for 38 years, retiring in 1998.
He is survived by a daughter, Charlotte Eichhorn of Arizona; a sister, Ada Edwards of Amagansett; and 21 nieces and nephews.
Four sisters, Jane Morgan, Florence Miller, Helen Eichhorn and Joan See and three brothers, John, Edward and Arnold Eichhorn, all predeceased him.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 18, at the Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton, with the Reverend S. Howarth officiating. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Amagansett. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368-2454 would be appreciated by the family.
