A 26-foot Catalina sailboat called the Vanna White ran aground on the ocean beach in Montauk near Shadmoor at about 1 p.m. on Thursday after its engine failed. The boat’s owner, who had purchased it the day before, was the only person aboard and was not hurt. SeaTow was at the scene on Thursday afternoon and hoped to be able to pull the boat off the beach once the tide came up.
