Pierson High School students in Clint Shulman’s physics and astronomy class traveled to New York City to see the show “Worlds Beyond Earth.” The students visited the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History where they saw a show that included detailed and immersive scenes of the solar system drawn from real data. After the show, the students explored the city. Together they visited Bryant Park for ice skating and Rockefeller Center to see the tree for a full day of learning and fun. Henry Brooks of Sag Harbor, who is attending the School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has earned a place on the dean’s list for the fall semester.
The Montauk PTA Pasta Dinner in support of student scholarships will take place on Saturday, January 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the firehouse. Highlights include raffle prizes and a 50/50 raffle. Adult dinners are $25, children $15, children 5 and under attend for free. Tickets are available at the door.
The Church in Sag Harbor has two student programs scheduled this month: a virtual reality session on Thursday, January 12, from 4 to 5 p.m. and printmaking on Sunday, January 15, from 2 to 4 p.m.
