Jerry Larsen, who is running for mayor of East Hampton Village in a June election, filed a complaint with East Hampton Town Police on January 15 saying that he and his supporters had received anonymous, harassing letters within the past year. Mr. Larsen issued a press release on Monday saying he had received three letters “of a harassing nature” at his address at Marion Lane in East Hampton between May and November 2019. Springs Man Escapes Fiery Crash

The driver of a pickup truck that crashed into the woods off Neck Path on Friday night narrowly escaped the vehicle before it became engulfed in flames. Daryl Michels, 34, of Springs was driving westbound just before midnight on Friday when the accident happened. East Hampton Town Police said Mr. Michels told them a deer ran into the road in front of him and, in swerving to avoid the animal, he lost control of his car.
