A utility pole fire Sunday morning at 10:45 a.m. on Cedar Road in East Hampton prompted police to close part of that roadway, according to a press release issued Sunday afternoon. East Hampton Town Police said Cedar Street will remain closed between North Main Street and Miller Lane Sunday afternoon while PSEG works to restore service. On Monday, the Sag Harbor School District was the victim of a cyber attack that temporarily disabled its server and computer systems, according to an email sent out by district officials to parents and residents of the district. The State Office of Information Technology Services and the Cyber Security Task Force have been contacted, according to the email. Superintendent of Schools Katy Graves said on Monday that the system would be down for another 24 hours at least. A box truck struck and injured a bicyclist at the intersection of Cross Highway and Montauk Highway in Amagansett just before noon on Thursday, August 15.East Hampton Town Councilman David Lys was driving toward Amagansett when he saw the bicyclist get knocked off his bicycle in front of Brent’s Deli.
