The East Hampton High School Parent-Teacher-Student Association will host its first annual fundraiser on Friday, May 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Clubhouse in Wainscott. The event will include a silent auction and live music by the Real East End Brass (REEB) band. The money raised goes directly to support students: trips, programs, events, scholarships, and more. All over the age of 21 are welcome to attend. The association expects it will be a great night out for parents, teachers, relatives and all community members who support the students (past, present and future) of East Hampton High School. ...

Three will be vying for two open seats on the Springs Board of Education next month. Current Board President Erik Fredrickson and Trustee Emma Field are both seeking reelection to their seats, and will be challenged by community member Gerard Picco. School board members up for reelection in both the Sag Harbor and Bridgehampton School Districts are unopposed in their bids to retain their seats. In Sag Harbor, board members Ron Reed and Grainne Coen are up for reelection, while in Bridgehampton, Jennifer Vinski and Carla Lillie are up for reelection as well. Coen and Reed are running for their second terms. Leigh-Ann Hess is running an uncontested race for a Montauk Board of Education seat that will be vacated by Diane Hausman at the end of her term later this year. The filing deadline for candidates was April 21 — with Hess being the only candidate who submitted paperwork — and the annual school board and budget vote will take place on May 20.
