Tours are free to the public and advanced registration is required at SteinbeckHouseNY.org. Steinbeck House is in the Village of Sag Harbor, where the Nobel Prize-winning author lived from 1955 to 1968, receiving the prestigious award in 1962. Conductor and pianist Bobby Peterson will conduct a Christmas Oratorio by Camille Saint-Saens, as well as a sing-along with a full choir, singing such favorites as “Joy to the World” and “O Come All Ye Faithful,” among numerous other popular pieces, during a concert at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in East Hampton on Saturday, December 16, at 5 p.m. The concert is free and open to the pubic. This award recognizes Gershowitz’s contributions to the marina community and as a rising star in the industry. “Shellabration,” the annual ode to shellfish in the Village of Greenport, returns on December 2 and 3, from noon to 4 p.m. each day. Wristbands are now available for purchase allowing access to participating Greenport establishments to enjoy local shellfish, wine and beer pairings during a weekend-long restaurant walk. The popular Polar Bear Plunge to benefit Heart of the Hamptons will return to Coopers Beach on Saturday, December 9. The 2023 Plunge will mark the 20th anniversary of the event. Last year, over 800 people attended to take the plunge or cheer on participants as they jumped into the chilly water of the Atlantic Ocean to help support those in need.
