Tick Talk: Innovative Solutions to Tick Woes Explored

Ticks and, more specifically, tick-borne diseases are a concern all over the South Fork but particularly in North Haven Village, where deer and ticks flourish. The village government is working on ways to make it easier to place 4-Posters, which are bait stations that rub tick-killing permethrin on the necks and ears of deer as they eat corn. This week on 27Speaks, North Haven-based journalist Peter Boody joins the editors to discuss the effectiveness of 4-Posters and spraying tickicides, the public concerns about using these methods, and the steps residents can take to protect their families from ticks.

Budgets In East Hampton, Sagaponack And Bridgehampton Earn Overwhelming Support

Schools on the South Fork were supported by voters Tuesday night, with budgets approved by wide margins across the board. East Hampton  East Hampton residents voted, 186-21, in favor of the school district’s $76.5 million budget for the 2022-23 school year.
