With the approach of Earth Day, the East Hampton Litter Action Committee has organized a monthlong series of roadside littler pickups.
Roadside litter is not only unsightly, it contributes to the colossal amount of plastic and other trash entering our surface water bodies and clogs our road drainage systems.
Organized litter pickups starting on April 20 and ending on May 18 are listed on the Town of East Hampton’s website. If you don’t want to join one of the organized events, reach out to your neighbors and clean up your own street. You’ll be amazed at how satisfying it is to do such an easy thing to clean up our community and help protect our environment.
