Michael Wright had an article on geocubes this past week [“East Hampton Looking at Ways To Make Temporary Shoreline Protections Actually Temporary,” 27east.com, May 3]. One of the better ones we’ve seen, as our deeded rights have been violated for four years, nine months, three weeks and six days.
In fact, it is rumored the two homeowners who also deny the entire town access as granted in the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program have submitted plans to modify the noncompliant structure not on their property — the same one they were sent letters to remove from the middle of Bay View Avenue over four years ago.
One of the homeowners wishes to now move their home back, even though it is under 100 feet from wetlands, and even Brian Frank stated at a zoning board meeting in 2019: “These homes wouldn’t be built by today’s standards.”
The other homeowner is rumored to be working on a deal with the town behind the scenes for the purchase of their property. Road and emergency access still blocked.
Still here.
