OLA Awarded $200,000 Grant From Suffolk County Opioid Settlement Fund

Suffolk County has awarded OLA of Eastern Long Island $200,000 a year for three years to work to combat substance use and abuse on Long Island’s East End. The support comes from the Opioid Settlement Fund that resulted from a lawsuit that Suffolk County filed against major drug companies and retail pharmacies in 2016. OLA is one of only 34 organizations in Suffolk County to receive a grant in this first round of funding from the $25 million that the county has received so far in settlement award money. The Choral Society of the Hamptons will hold auditions in late January and early February for singers interested in joining the group prior to its next concert on Sunday, March 26. The Choral Society primarily rehearses at the Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church and the spring concert will take place at Bay Street Theater.
