Michael Wright had an article this past week that ended with: “‘We’ve got to start on some level,’ [Jim] Grimes said” [“East Hampton Town Trustees Face Long, Costly Road in Potential Napeague Harbor Remake,” 27east.com, June 28].
In 2020, in regards to the harbor dredging, a response given to me at a Trustees meeting: “The reality is, we are a couple of years away.” Now, three years later, and after a decade of losing beachfront and a harbor that is well known to be heating up. With shoulder shrugging: We’ve got to start.

Problem now is, District 12 is tired of waiting. But, then again, is this the new holding pattern? Delay and wait people out? After all, according to the Coastal Assessment Resiliency Plan, I’m the only one left in 2070.
Still here.
