Women will march for equal rights, immigration reform and other causes in Sag Harbor on Saturday.
Held in conjunction with similar marches in Washington, D.C., New York City and elsewhere over the weekend, the East End Women's March will start at 11 a.m. at Long Wharf and proceed down Sag Harbor's Main Street.
"I think we'll have a lot of different things to cover at the march," said Hope Marxe, a Sag Harbor resident who helped organize this year's local event.
Ms. Marxe took the lead in getting the march together, and applied more than a week ago for a permit with Sag Harbor Village. Last year's march, which Ms. Marxe said was put together in only two days, drew more than 300 people.
"A lot of us from the march last year stayed in touch and joined Facebook groups," Ms. Marxe said. "When I was applying for the permit, a lot of people were asking if there was going to be another march. I think it's very powerful and amazing to see."
