Kate Mueth launched Andromeda's Sisters in 2017 to bring Arts and Advocacy together focused on empowering and highlighting women in the theater and not-for-profit social justice worlds. Women and their advocates come together through panels, plays and a party to network, be inspired, and activate for creative and social change in our communities, work, and personal lives. This year we honor The New York Women's Foundation and explore the theme "Speaking Truth to Power," focusing on women's health, the arts, and the Constitution.
Andromeda's Sisters features performances by actors Catherine Curtin (Stranger Things, Homeland, Saturday Night) and Mercedes Ruehl (The Fisher King, Married To The Mob, Neil Simon’s Lost in Yonkers on Broadway), singers Olivia Wasser and Jackie Iulo, and NPC Dancers. Presentations include featured monologues by playwrights Cindy Cooper, Emma Tattenbaum-Fine, and Kate Mueth.
This year's panel discussion is moderated by Elise Labott, a world-renown journalist covering international affairs and US foreign policy. Elise is joined in conversation by Ana Oliveira, President & CEO of The New York Women's Foundation, Anne Reem, Co-Founder of the Chicago-based Center for Story and Witness and author of the groundbreaking book 'Lived Through This,' and Dorothy Thomas, MacArthur Fellow, Fellow of the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study and human rights activist.
Following the panel, we invite you to join us for a party in the garden with food from Jason Amis Catering Kitchen and beverages including wine from Wolffer Estate Vineyard!
