Almond Restaurant will host a special Autumn Dinner on Monday, November 15th featuring farmer, forager, guest chef, Jack Formica. This third annual event features a plant based menu almost entirely sourced from the East End.
“ I like to say that this is ‘true East End cuisine’ as 98% of this menu is locally sourced. This event is as much of an education as it is an eating event as so many people do not realize how many native plants are out here and can find their way to your plate” shares Formica.
The special menu, $95 per person plus tax and tip, will be offered from 5 – 9 p.m. on Monday, November 15th. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (631) 537-5665. The menu is as follows:
1 Ocean Salt Potatoes
Sugar kelp, miso, ginger, wild mustard
2 Wild Allium + Smoked Potato Soup
Black trumpet mushrooms, fig leaf
3 Hen of the Woods + Native Corn Tostada
L.I. cheese pumpkin, local peanut + sesame salsa
4 Gold Beet Salad
Wild hazelnut, bitter greens, feral apple, acorn oil
5 Confit Chicken of the Woods
Fermented wild cranberry, root vegetables, fall nettle
6 Acorn + Maple cookie, Dream Tea
