Our salt marshes play a critical role in the health of Long Island. The many organisms within the salt marsh work to filter pollutants, provide shelter, and supply nutrients for our marine life. On this trip we will observe the diversity of plant and animal life along the shore. For this trip we ask you to please wear water resistant shoes from boots to water shoes as we will be walking through the spartina grass and along the shoreline.
