Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County’s (CCE) Marine Program has been protecting water quality, restoring habitat, enhancing shellfish and finfish populations, and educating the public on the importance of our marine environment for nearly 40 years! Through our Back to the Bays Initiative, we foster stewardship and engage the public in our restoration projects. In order to support the continuation and expansion of these efforts, we are holding a Back to the Bays Day fundraiser at Cowfish Restaurant in Hampton Bays on June 15th, from 2-5 pm.
This free, family-friendly event will feature live art & music performances, marine animal ambassadors, interactive education stations, and more. We’ll also have a locally sourced raw bar, children’s activities, and will be promoting our Back to the Bays Stewardship Program. For a small donation anyone can become an official member of our Steward Program, and in efforts to recruit as many supporters as possible, we’ll be showcasing extensive raffle prizes that all new stewards will be eligible to win.
