Bedell Cellars, recognized as the premier winery of the North Fork of Long Island, is thrilled to announce that Wine Enthusiast Magazine has awarded their 2020 Melon de Bourgogne an astounding 93 points, making it the highest scoring still white wine from the North Fork awarded such a high score in a major publication.
The Melon de Bourgogne is whole cluster pressed, fermented and aged in stainless steel. Fermented on fine lees and aged on the lees for six months. The first of this varietal that was planted on the East Coast is primarily known as Muscadet in France. The wine features bright acidity with flavors of apple, pear, citrus and a saline minerality common to wines grown on the North Fork. While the 2020 vintage has since sold out, a small stock of 2021 is available at Bedell Cellars and can be bought by visiting https://bit.ly/3LOOSUK.
