Book talk Torrent of Grace with Mark Joseph Williams

Description:

On Thursday, June 12 from 6 to 7:30 pm, author Mark Joseph Williams will speak about his new book, Torrent of Grace: A Catholic Survivor’s Healing Journey after Clergy Abuse. In the memoir published by Orbis Books, Williams shares his devastating experience surviving clergy abuse, and in the aftermath of trauma, how he finds healing within the Catholic Church. Williams rediscovered new life beyond the abuse within the sacraments and mystery of the cross. He later became an advocate for others and for transforming a broken church.
“An extraordinary testimony that confronts with candor the suffering caused by abuse. A powerful encouragement to hope against hope and to believe in the presence of grace—even in darkness and despair,” writes Hans Zollner, SJ, director, Institute of Anthropology Interdisciplinary Studies on Human Dignity and Care, Pontifical Gregorian University.
Copies of Torrent of Grace will be available for purchase and author signing at the event. The event is co-sponsored and hosted by Christ Episcopal Church located on East Union Street in Sag Harbor. The event takes place at the Episcopal Church’s Carter Room accessible by ramp on East Union Street. For information, call 631-725-4926.
