Please join poet Carole Stone for a Virtual Workshop on The Poetry of Witness.
Carole Stone is a Distinguished Professor of English and creative writing, emerita, Montclair State University. Her poetry collections include: Late; Hurt, The Shadow; American Rhapsody; and Traveling With the Dead.
In this workshop Professor Stone will begin by defining poetry of witness. Participants may respond to prompts that will be given or write their own poem, one page fiction piece or one page essay. Professor Stone will share poems of witness by some of the most famous writers of our time.
There will be ample time for freewriting during the workshop. Everyone is encouraged to read their work aloud and to take part in a lively discussion. Writers of all levels are welcome. Co-Sponsored with the Amagansett Free Library.
