Description:

Choral Evensong Service with Community Organists on Newly Restored Pipe Organ for Re-DedicationrnrnThe community is invited to a Choral Evensong Service to re-dedicate the newly restored Opus 1850 Austin Pipe Organ of the Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church. The Choral Evensong Service will include instrumental, a vocal solo, and choral presentations with our choir, (augmented with members of the Choral Society of the Hamptons), as well as guest singers and handbells—all accompanied by the restored Austin Pipe Organ.rnrnGuest organists will include Walter Klauss, a highly regarded organist, harpsichordist and pianist, who for close to 40 years was director, then minister of music, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Manhattan, where he founded the critically acclaimed concert series, “Musica Viva”, and currently is Old Whalers’ Church’s artist in residence in Sag Harbor; and Peter Ludlow, an accomplished musician who was trained in Organ Performance at Vassar College and is currently music director at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Southampton.rnrnSpecial music selections will feature the restored pipe organ with its newly renovated console, offering better visibility and extensive pedal options as well as relocated Gedect pipework that makes room for the new 16-register reed pipes placed on the swell windchest. rnrnAll music lovers and their friends are welcome!
