Dear Future Flower: Celebrating the Native Wildflowers of the Hamptons

Native wildflowers are not just beautiful—they are vital to the delicate balance of our environment. However, these fragile blooms face challenges from habitat loss, and invasive species. Join us as we celebrate and protect these important plants through our creative craft project, “Dear Future Flower.”

Children will receive a packet of native wildflower seeds, specially chosen to support the Hamptons’ ecosystem. They will write a heartfelt letter or create a vibrant drawing for their future flower, imagining how it will bloom and contribute to the local landscape. After planting their seeds at home, families can share photos of their blossoming wildflowers. As a special touch, we will mail the letters or drawings back to the children, creating a cherished keepsake of their creativity and connection to nature.

This meaningful activity combines art, imagination, and environmental awareness to nurture a love for the natural world while highlighting the importance of preserving the Hamptons’ native flora.
