Exploration of Promised Land in Amagansett: This program is for adults and teens
Walk Leader: LeighAnn Montaglione, SOFO Environmental Educator
The Promised Land area is home to one of Long Island’s most unique habitats. The sandy soil, pitch pines, and cacti give the feeling that you are in the desert in another world. As we walk around this special landscape we will also stumble upon the ruins of an old fish factory, which shows only a small piece of Long Island’s vast fishing history. Along the way, we will also find what kind of animals like this habitat and talk about how land reclaims itself after being used by humans.
There is a $15 fee for Adults and $10 fee for children for this program. This program fee will also provide non-members with free admission to the museum on a day of their choice. Members are free.
Advanced reservations are required for all events. For more information, reservations, and directions to meeting places, please call: (631) 537-9735.
