Stop by for a chat with local author Nanci LaGarenne!
Born and raised in Brooklyn, Nanci left a teaching position at PS 236 thirty years ago to raise a family on long island's east end. Her first novel "Refuge" - an homage to survivors of domestic abuse - was informed by her work for local non-profit The Retreat.
Inspiration from a former gig as karaoke host in a Montauk fishermen’s bar led to her second novel "Cheap Fish" - a raucous murder mystery centered on a floating brothel. It's sequel "The Bitter End" is her latest...
Nanci will be discussing her novels, her path to becoming an author, and how a deep connection to Montauk and the east end has shaped her creative process.
It's all part of the free "Meet the Author" series, presented by the Springs Historical Society & Community Library!
New library members will receive a free gift copy of "Book Love" by Long Island author Bill Henderson.
